Uluru (Ayers Rock)

10 Day Central Australia Safari

Travelling as far north as Alice Springs, you will be witness to a landscape of changing colours and varied terrain. Departing from Mebourne, your journey takes you through Adelaide and Port Augusta before reaching Coober Pedy, a seen-to-be-believed opal mining town. Sleeping in an underground dugout to escape the hot temperatures will be an experience you will never forget. From here, we journey to Kings Canyon, where your exhilarating walk through the amazing landforms will be rewarded by a refreshing swim in the Garden of Eden waterhole &mdash just magical! Enjoy a sunrise/sunset viewing of Uluru, including an astronomy session like no other in the world &mdash we guarantee you will never feel so close to the stars as you will in Uluru National Park. It's then to Alice Springs, where the remarkable MacDonnell Ranges await us, including Standley Chasm and Simpsons Gap. Travelling through Australia's Centre along the Stuart Highway, each town offers its own Aboriginal culture and history, including the eye-catching granite formations of the Devil's Marbles, believed to be the eggs of the powerful rainbow serpent. The ever-popular cruise along the beautiful Katherine River features many accessible Aboriginal rock art sites, as well as the chance to swim under a breath-taking waterfall. An overnight stay at Gunlom Falls is one of those hidden treasures that you will rave about to your friends on your return, as is the beauty and tranquility of Litchfield and Kakadu National Park, both heritage listed.
